🧾 About JKPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)

The JKPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is conducted to recruit qualified candidates for various administrative and allied services posts under the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.

Through this examination, JKPSC selects candidates for positions such as:

  • Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS)
  • Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS)
  • Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Service (JKAS-Finance)
    and several other allied services.

The CCE is held in three stages — Preliminary Exam, Main Examination, and Personality Test (Interview). The Prelims act as the first screening stage to shortlist candidates for the Mains.

📘 Exam Structure & Pattern

The JKPSC CCE Preliminary Examination comprises two papers:

  1. Paper I – General Studies (GS-I)
  2. Paper II – General Studies (CSAT/Qualifying Paper)

Each paper carries 200 marks, making a total of 400 marks for the Prelims stage.

  • Both papers are objective-type (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • Negative marking applies for wrong answers (1/3rd of the marks assigned to the question).
  • The CSAT paper is qualifying in nature — candidates must score at least 33% to qualify.

The marks obtained in Paper I determine eligibility for the Mains Examination.

🎓 Eligibility (As per Previous Notification)

While this specific circular only focuses on the exam schedule, eligibility criteria were detailed earlier in Notification No. 11-PSC(DR-P) of 2025. As per that notice, candidates must:

  • Be a domicile of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Be between 21 to 32 years of age as of January 1, 2025 (age relaxations apply for reserved categories as per JKPSC rules).

Candidates who had successfully applied under the said notification are now eligible to appear in the Prelims Examination.

🧾 Important Instructions for Candidates

The JKPSC has advised all candidates to strictly follow examination guidelines and COVID-appropriate behavior (if applicable) during the exam. Some key points include:

  • Admit Cards will be made available on the official website (jkpsc.nic.in) before the examination.
  • Candidates must carry a valid photo ID proof along with their Admit Card to the exam hall.
  • The use of mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, or any electronic device inside the examination centre is strictly prohibited.
  • Candidates must report at the examination centre well in advance to avoid late entry, as gates may close 30 minutes before the exam.

Failure to comply with these instructions may result in disqualification or disciplinary action by the Commission.

💡 What’s Next After JKPSC CCE Prelims 2025?

After the Prelims are conducted successfully, JKPSC will release the official answer key within a few days, followed by the Preliminary Result.
Candidates who secure the required cutoff marks will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination, which will include descriptive papers covering various subjects related to general studies, optional papers, and essay writing.

The final stage will be the Personality Test (Interview), which assesses the candidate’s suitability for administrative roles in Jammu and Kashmir.
